Chaz L.
Private tutor in Philadelphia, PA
Education
I am currently a fifth-year PhD student at UPenn, where I study cognitive and social psychology. My specific focus is in how people make moral and legal judgments. I also hold degrees from UPenn (MA in psychology), BU Law (JD, cum laude), and Stony Brook (BA in psychology, anthropology, and philosophy, summa cum laude).
Experience
GRE: 1600 (perfect), official, July 15, 2011 99+ percentile on SAT, LSAT. I tutored for two test-prep companies from 2009-2010, and then have been freelance since then. My major goal is always to try to simplify the test as much as possible. Studying and test-taking are never very fun, but they don't have to be completely miserable. When I studied for most of my tests, I did it alone, and did not have a great time. But now I have the chance to help other people make sense of the hardest questions, and to develop the test-taking skills that will really improve their scores.

Hobbies
Originally from Maine, school has brought me to Mass, New York, and now to Philly. I also took a year off from law school to live and work abroad in Vietnam, where I was a grant-writer for a local human rights NGO. I am now starting my fourth year of my PhD program. I spend most of my spare time now being a nerd with my friends (e.g., fantasy Supreme Court prediction, ping pong), but I also love trying new foods and traveling abroad.
