-Extensive experience in tutoring English, Math, private music lessons, and several scientific disciplines -ACT score of 34 -Received all A's at Northwestern University -5's or 4's on the following AP examinations: English, Spanish, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, AB Calculus, Music Theory I am currently a musicianship and creative music classroom teacher at Play On, Philly! (playonphilly.org), a program that seeks to enrich the lives of Philadelphia youth by providing free daily musical instruction in communities where access to music education is otherwise scarce. I love helping students develop clarity, confidence, and voice in their relationship with their work, and I cherish moments when a student accomplishes a feat that only moments prior seemed to them insurmountable. It is my belief and experience that the relationship between tutor and student can be a wellspring of personal growth for both parties when treated as a precious opportunity, and I am thrilled to be working in the field of education.

Hobbies
In addition to my work in education, I am an experienced meditator in the Vipassana tradition with a deep interest in the role of mindfulness in education, and I am currently studying Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, as pioneered by Jon Kabit-Zinn, at Jefferson Hospital. Also, I record my own music, perform as a supporting musician for bandleaders in Philadelphia, and love intercity cycle tours -- this past June was Detroit to Montreal!
