Experience
With over 35 years of teaching experience, it is clear that I am meant for it. Tutoring allows me to focus individually-developed curriculum for a one-to-one learning experience, and also provides me the ability to connect with each of my students. I believe that making a connection is what makes my style unique. I enjoy experiencing that moment where a student begins to understand the material and is able to grasp the concepts that we have been working on. I believe that you will find my pleasure in working with your child to be a rewarding experience for both of you, as they reach the academic goals you set. I have taught students of all ages. My specialty is math (all levels through algebra), as well as entry-level reading. I received my Child Development bachelor's degree at the University of Pittsburgh. I also attended Temple University, where I earned my Master in Education for Special Education. I hold a certification for Middle School Math that I gained from Drexel University. In addition to my education, I have taught early intervention for children three to six year old, special education for teens, and have been tutoring various disciplines for the last two years. When I am not teaching, I enjoy biking, swimming, ice hockey, and knitting.
