Education

Farmingdale State College - BS, Biology , University of Delaware - PhD, Biological Sciences

Experience

I currently reside in Philadelphia, PA and recently graduated from the University of Delaware with a PhD. in Biological Science; previously, I was a graduate of Farmingdale State College. The research I conducted during my graduate work has afforded me a knowledge of bacterial genetics, phylogenetics, bioinformatics, biochemistry, and metabolomics. I am very passionate about my teaching and I am experienced in tutoring one on one, or within a classroom or lab setting. I have previously taught introductory biology and introductory chemistry in the classroom as well as in the laboratory environment to undergrad students. I've also provided chapter lectures in both graduate and undergrad biology courses. I have familiarized myself with teaching practices that serve to engage and assist my students in learning at their optimum levels, and I will try to strengthen those abilities even further to promote a greater understanding of our scientific world. I am also able to assist with test preparation for the DAT Survey of Natural Sciences, PCAT Biology, GRE in Biology and Chemistry, GRE Subject tests, and Organic Chemistry. I enjoy playing soccer and racquetball to stay active, and I like to play board games and trivia games for intellectual stimulation.
