Experience
I am a tutor who believes that patience and encouragement are the keys to being a successful educator. I'm here to help students in a variety of subjects including algebra, geometry, elementary math, middle school math, statistics, trigonometry, reading, writing, literature, American history, European history, psychology, geography, English, social studies, and more. I am also available to do standardized test prep, work with students on college essays, and to assist students with their public speaking skills. I received my degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut, where I graduated with distinction. I believe that lessons catered to student's individual needs are very effective in engaging students. I've also discovered that encouragement is a powerful tool when working with students who aren't necessarily passionate about learning. As a tutor I am patient, ensuring that students who are easily distracted or have developmental disabilities don't get left behind. I try to make all of my tutoring sessions fun and interesting by using various tools and games that stimulate student interest. When I'm not tutoring I like to sing (I'm a song writer) and play guitar. I also enjoy kicking around a soccer ball and shooting some hoops. I really enjoy traveling.
