Experience
I earned my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. I really enjoy it when I have the chance to teach students and help them get excited about research and science. It has a huge impact on me, and is my number one favorite thing to do. I've worked in numerous positions throughout the world, teaching classes, running lectures, and tutoring students individually. I have learned to look at things through my students' perspective so I can understand the method of explaining complex concepts in a way they are most likely to understand. I take them through each step of the problem, and point out the connection from one step to the next, so that when they see it finished, they can trace the path they took to get to the final answer, and apply it to other problems, whether in school or in life. I have found that this focus on the core concepts of complex problems enables my students to not only learn, but retain the information, recall it when necessary, and expand on the idea--they learn for life, not just a test. I believe students benefit from the direct feedback I can offer as a tutor.
