Experience
I tutor in physics, up to the college level and also in mathematics in the middle, high school and some college level. My favorite class to help with is introductory physics because there is such a steep learning curve. It is fun to see a student learning about a subject they probably don't have much experience in yet. I have my degree in physics and mathematics. While I was studying, I worked as a Teacher's Assistant for numerous physics and math classes. This helped me gain experience in the classroom, one-on-one, and in small groups. I have also tutored a few students in math. My style of tutoring varies with each student, because everyone learns differently. I don't focus on lecturing; I enjoy a more hands-on approach. I really like to work through the problems with people. Usually, I start with working through a problem with them while asking them questions and engaging them along the way. Then, I have them work through one themselves. When I am not tutoring and teaching, you can find me cooking, doing yoga, and reading. I am looking forward to meeting new people and helping them meet their academic goals.
