Temple University - Bachelors, Secondary Social Studies Education
Experience
I'm Sam, and I went to Temple University to earn degrees in history and secondary social studies education. I wanted to become a teacher since I was a sophomore in high school, and I'm looking forward to pursuing my dreams. I want to eventually earn my PhD and instruct teachers. I believe my job as a tutor is to facilitate students as they work towards success. I figure out where students have gaps in their learning, and then I come up with ways to help them overcome those obstacles by calling upon tried-and-true teaching methods. I want students to make progress and build confidence in every session. I can assist students in subjects like world history, government and politics, social studies, African-American history, US history, geography, English, SAT prep, AP history courses, essays, and others. In my free time, I enjoy tutoring for Temple University sports, exploring the city of Philadelphia, playing sports, listening to music, and reading.

Hobbies
Supporting my alma mater (Go Owls!), exploring Philadelphia (especially restaurants), sports (watching and playing), music (listening), and reading (mostly non-fiction). My favorite historical subject is pre-Civil War politics. I have a passion for teaching methods, and I aspire to one day get my doctorate in Education and teach teachers.
