David W.
Private tutor in Philadelphia, PA
Education
I have a Ph.D in Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania. I also attended Upenn as an undergraduate, where I received me BA in linguistics in 2012 and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Experience
I have instructed summer courses in the Linguistics program at the University of Pennsylvania, and have accepted a position as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Swarthmore College for the upcoming year. I have familiarity with a number of languages, both modern and ancient, including Latin, Greek, Sanskrit, Russian, Italian, German (to a lesser extent), along with other more uncommon languages. I have always enjoyed teaching as part of my academic career, and find that interacting with hard-working and enthusiastic students is one of the most most memorable rewarding parts of this field.

Hobbies
Aside from my interest in human language, my other academic interests include history, the verbal arts, folklore, and mythology. Outside of academics, I'm an avid follower of Philadelphia sports, and a play hockey in a rec-league semi-regularly as a goalie. I love dogs and have a smallish Pug/Chihuahua mix named Chunky.
