He is very personable and easy to communicate with and has served as an inspiration and role model for many of our students. He is beloved by our staff and our students. Given the opportunity, Arthur will serve as an incredibly valuable member of any team or organization. Qualities: Personable, Expert, High Integrity." Why I want to be a Grade-A tutor: Back in high school, I had a tutor in Math and Science who quickly became much more to me. He was my mentor, my motivator, and my support. By encouraging me and stimulating my curiosity, he fired up my passion for learning, particularly in Physics and Mathematics. As a tutor, I hope to spread this passion, and to inspire in my students the joy of learning, of being curious and applying that curiosity to greater things. Other experiences: At Columbia, I enjoyed working two years as a Research Assistant under two professors in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. I worked in nanoscale fabrication, making electronic devices that are micrometers in size. Working in a research group has been an incredible experience of putting to work what you learn in class and read in textbooks, and to push the boundaries of your understanding.

I picked up swing dancing in my senior year at Columbia, so I now proudly call myself an amateur lindy hopper! I also enjoy singing, and have been part of a choir as a tenor for over two years. Music is another aspect to life that simply opens our hearts and minds to the beauty of the world.
