Education
I have completed a BA in International Studies with a concentration in Latin America. I also completed two minors, in public health and Spanish. I am currently a public health graduate student at Drexel University.
Experience
I have tutored informally at the language center at Elon University (undergraduate) and as a member of the Spanish Learning Community on campus. I scored 4 and 5 on my AP English Exams and the AP Spanish Exam. As part of my minor in Spanish, I took more than 30 hrs of conversation, composition, grammar, literature and culture classes in Spanish. I studied abroad in Ecuador during my junior year, where I took intensive classes. I was president of the Spanish Honors Society (Sigma Delta Pi) at Elon University. Aside from having studied Spanish throughout my career as a student, I speak Spanish and English at home because one of my parents is from Bolivia and both speak Spanish fluently. I am currently studying Hispanic health and often work with the Hispanic/Latino community in Philadelphia.
