Experience

-I have a great deal of experience both as a private tutor as well as in group settings, particularly through the 52nd St. Project in New York, where besides working with kids on theatrical projects that involved writing, rehearsing and performing in front of live audiences, I also tutored them after school every day in what we called Homework Help. Homework Help was in all subjects, and I specialized in English Literature and Reading/Writing help. The kids at the Project ranged in age from 9 to 18. -I also have a lot of experience working with other non-profit theatre arts organizations, ranging from teaching artist work with students of all ages to managerial roles in New York, Philadelphia, Richmond, VA, and even Madagascar! -My desire to be a tutor stems from my drive to help students in all areas of my work. Some of my fondest memories of school involved those teachers, tutors, and mentors that went the extra mile for me and helped me reach the accomplishments I never would have achieved had it not been for their guidance. I look to them for help still, and now I hope to be that kind of role model and educational cheerleader (sans pom poms) for the students I work with.

-I am an extremely passionate and active actor in many mediums including stage, film, TV, and more. -My favorite field in the theatre arts is Clowning, which I have studied for four years now, and which basically involves being the most empathetic, open person you can in order to share a story or experience with an audience (and hopefully make them laugh!) -I am an extremely avid reader and film-watcher. Some of my favorite authors include Margaret Atwood, Tom Robbins, and Kurt Vonnegut -Tennis player and big baseball fan -Can play acoustic guitar and harmonica, and I love finding new music I've never heard! -Martial Arts enthusiast including Capoeira, Eskrima, and Judo
