Experience
I'm a math tutor who prioritizes strong communication with my students and solid understanding of material. If I don't fully understand the topic inside and out, I can't truly explain it to someone else. Likewise, if I can't communicate effectively, then what I know is useless to someone else. I worked hard to build up my knowledge base and my communication skills to be an effective math tutor. I attended the University of Oregon to earn my bachelor's degree in math, graduating summa cum laude and earning a 4.02 GPA. I've had the opportunity to take several math courses at the graduate level, and I plan to continue on to earn a doctorate in math education. I have several years of experience as a math tutor, and I've also had the opportunity to tutor future educators in math learning. I have a strong pedagogical understanding to take complex topics explain them in ways that are easier to understand. My overall goal is to explain topics to students in a way that they can relate to help them better understand, appreciate, and succeed in math. In addition to math, I can also tutor students in economics, business, Spanish, physics, and test preparation for the SAT, GRE, PSAT, and other standardized tests.
