Experience
I am a graduate of New York City's Columbia University, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology. My focus on Anthropology has given me a deep passion for the humanities. I am also a dedicated educator. I have been tutoring in some form for over ten years. I began as a volunteer percussion instructor while I was in college, and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to continue. Since then, I have tutored a variety of students, from adults who were preparing for their GED to school-age children needing assistance with English. Now, I focus on reading, writing, and editing. I am also available to help students prepare for the English and writing sections of the PSAT and SAT. Though I hold my students to high standards, I have a kind and laid-back tutoring style, and I strive to keep the lines of communication open between my students and I. When I'm not helping my students improve their English skills, I enjoy spending my free time playing basketball, reading, and writing poetry. I am also an avid musician and engineer. I currently play in many bands and I also record music for other local artists.
