Experience

I received a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh, where I chose to minor in Spanish and chemistry. Wanting to continue my medical career path, I attended Columbia University and received a Master of Science in Human Nutrition. However, upon completion, I decided to focus on improving the health among a larger population. I am now attending Drexel University, in the School of Public Health, where I shall complete my master's in Public Health by 2016. My experience as a tutor includes teaching math and sciences at the high school level, working at the undergraduate level as a chemistry teacher's assistant for two and a half years, and tutoring Spanish. I especially enjoy tutoring algebra, as I believe that building a strong foundation in algebra aids students in understanding various other subjects. Aside from algebra, I have a wealth of experience tutoring students in chemistry, and my time as a teacher's assistant has given me the knowledge to help chemistry students learn and understand the material. I also worked and lived in Honduras and Costa Rica, where I provided my medical translating services in clinics. Moreover, I attended a Spanish study program in Madrid for one month, where I became proficient in Spanish.
