Throughout my adolescent years, I struggled to grasp why English classes were so important. I had a breakthrough in my senior year, thanks to one particular teacher who changed my view on this incredible subject. I wondered why we had to read books and poems written by a bunch of people that no longer existed in this world. Then I had an English teacher that turned my life around. He made these stories come to life and showed me how they applied to what was going on in the world around me. If I hadn't had this fantastic teacher, I believe my life would have been a lot different.I now realize the importance of education, especially the importance of English as a subject. My goal is to show my students the impact that this valuable subject has on our everyday lives. I hope that my students leave understanding that the words of wisdom written by people before us still ring true and can help them through complications in their life. I know that a little compassion goes a long way, and I give my struggling students the compassion they deserve. My tutoring style also includes getting to know each of my clients individually and creating a custom made lesson plan to fit their needs. I want my clients to gain academic and personal success and develop of love of learning the powerful and beautiful English language and literature.
