Experience
I am Philadelphia-based educator who received my education at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a teacher, I believe every student has a unique way of learning material. The challenge of a tutor is to ferret out a student's learning style. It's necessary for a lesson plan to instruct in a way that plays to a pupil's strengths, shores up their weaknesses, and helps them maximize their learning ability. As someone who has a lot of empathy and love for human diversity, it's easy for me to relate to the tutoring relationship from the student's perspective. My goal is to find a way of communicating with my pupil that is easily understood so the flow of information is effective, and the entire teaching experience is successful. I take joy in using my knowledge to increase the academic ability of others. My tutoring skills are in English, science, math, writing, nutrition, pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, elementary math, anatomy, physiology, and biology. Helping clients prepare to sit for standardized tests such as the SSAT, HSPT, and ISEE Lower Level are specialties. I can also help students write their college essay. My hobbies are eclectic. I love cooking, traveling, enjoying nature, reading, and playing/watching sports.
