Experience
Mathematics can be difficult, but with some extra time and effort in a calmer setting than the average classroom, students can make real progress. As a teacher for the past seven years who's worked with students ranging from eighth to twelfth graders in Mathematics from Pre-Algebra to Trigonometry, I have seen the benefits of tutoring firsthand. I first began teaching with the Philadelphia Archdiocese after completing a Master of Business Administration at Philadelphia University. I then moved to the Philadelphia School District to continue my teaching career. At the moment, I am looking to tutor more students in Mathematics courses like Algebra, Geometry, Accounting, Finance, and test preparation for the SAT and ACCUPLACER Mathematics sections. Since I spend my days working in larger classroom settings where one-to-one time is impossible, I look forward to the more low-key tutoring sessions where I can focus on a single student. It also gives me a chance to break down and explain Mathematical concepts in a more thorough manner. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy exercising. I read, run, and swim as much as possible.
