Experience

I have been a classroom teacher for 4 years. I am currently employed as a third grade special education teacher. I have twelve students with IEP’s who have different learning disabilities as well as ADD, ADHD and a hearing impairment. My objective is to help these students reach their IEP goals throughout the school year. I work with these students in the classroom and for one-on-one teaching or small group instruction. Prior to this position, I was a fourth grade lead teacher. I was responsible for teaching Language Arts, Writing, Math, Social Studies and Science. I have also worked in many after school care programs where I would assist small and large groups of students with their homework and study skills. I am currently finishing my last couple weeks of my Masters degree in special education. I plan to use what I have learned in this program to help all students of every skill level and need to better their education.

Besides having a passion for teaching, I enjoy cooking new dishes and working out almost everyday. I love relaxing at the beach or pool and have been a competitive swimmer for most of my life. I also enjoy shopping and going to new restaurants with friends. In my free time I also try to travel and go to new cities and countries.
