Private tutor in Philadelphia, PA
Arcadia University - BA, History, Secondary Education
I consider myself to be quite a versatile educator with an inordinately expansive range of experience. In college I served as an advanced tutor, where I assisted peers in their studies, then later conducted private tutoring sessions as a professional. I also had the wonderful experience of working with City Year Philadelphia, an organization dedicated to helping at-risk kids graduate high school. It was through this variety of experiences that I was able to have the chance to work with such a wide array of students, which showed me the importance of differentiated instruction during the learning process. I am certified as a social studies teacher, and I am extremely passionate about tutoring the subject of history; learning about the past gives us a clearer perspective of the future. I also have a fondness for teaching writing. That being said, my background includes tutoring in several areas, including English, elementary and high school math, and Spanish. Along with SAT and ACT preparation, my test preparation and study skills methods have produced terrific results. Creating a relationship with the student is important to enrich the learning process. Any student can succeed with the right guidance. When I am not teaching, I spend time with friends & family or can be found running.
