EducationEmory - BS, Neuroscience , Jefferson Medical College - MD, Medical Student
ExperienceI received a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Emory University, and am currently a medical student at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. With this extensive background in the sciences, I prefer tutoring Life Sciences topics. However, I am also able to assist students in Writing, Reading, French, and Math, and to aid in preparation for pre-college standardized tests. My tutoring methods typically involve helping the student to relate material to his or her interests and existing knowledge bases. Being able to connect difficult new material to familiar areas in which the student is confident creates a level of comfort that makes it easier for the student to digest the new subject matter and gain a sense of control. I hope that I can also work with my students to cultivate a passion for learning that endures beyond our work together, and beyond the academic experience. At the same time, I try to keep sessions fun and engaging. When I'm not studying or tutoring, I enjoy dance, and have explored a variety of types of South Asian dance: garba/raas, classical, Bollywood, and bhangra. I also enjoy cooking, reading adventure novels, watching Game of Thrones, and traveling.
