Education
BA Degree w/ major in Psychology from Haverford College, Haverford, PA, 1971. During my junior and senior years at Haverford, I participated in a joint program, sponsored by the School District of Philadelphia and the Friends' Council on Education, exploring community control of schools. Six students from Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges lived in the Kearney School neighborhood, while working as classroom aides at the school and program facilitators in the community.
Experience
I started tutoring during my junior year of high school, and have participated in various tutoring programs, at times, since then. I enjoy working w/students of all ages; and, especially feel rewarded when they experience that "AHA!" moment, which reflects their understanding of the subject. Also, I have worked as a substitute teacher in the School District of Philadelphia. However, because patience and persistence are among my strengths, I prefer one to one tutoring over classroom teaching. In August, 2014, I retired from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia after having worked there for 15 years as a Psychiatric Technician. In addition, I have recent PA Childline Child Abuse History and Commonwealth of PA State Police Criminal background clearances.

Hobbies
I enjoy reading(biographies, mysteries, historical fiction and non-fiction); interacting w/and caring for cats and dogs; driving; visiting museums and other points of interest, esp. in New York and Washington; discussing current events; and finding new challenges.
