I'm currently a resident in neurosurgery, in addition to being a tutor. In addition to actually performing surgeries, I have spent a lot of time educating both my patients and other physicians and students on our team. My medical degree is from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, and my undergraduate degree is from MIT.The acquisition of knowledge is crucial in our ability to navigate the world around us. Having the right knowledge opens doors and creates opportunities to benefit us through our lives. We think of school as the place where we obtain knowledge, but the fact is, it happens wherever we go. All students learn at their own pace and in their own style. School teachers do their best to realize this and implement specific teaching strategies, but they cannot take the place of the one-on-one tutor that many students need. As a tutor, I find it important to know my student will in order to best meet his or her learning needs. I engage with and listen to the student, and we form a study plan as a team. Though learning is a serious business, it is also helpful to have a good deal of fun while tutoring. In my free time, I enjoy music, cycling, baseball, SCUBA diving, and reading.
