Education

Uniquely, I am an artist who has always loved mathematics! I've always studied math and art simultaneously. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education and a Master's Degree in Education. I love mathematics and enjoy finding new ways of teaching and learning mathematics. In tutoring and teaching, I find that providing visual representations and examples of difficult math topics makes learning much easier.

Experience

My teaching and tutoring background is extensive. I have 15 Years of teaching experience, mostly in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus in Philadelphia and Delaware County schools. As a high schooler, I always enjoyed learning. I scored a 700 on the SAT Math section as a sophomore in high school. I was valedictorian of my large high school class. I've been tutoring students for three years with great success. Several students have improved their math grades by two levels (for example, from a C to an A) or by several grade levels (for example, from 2nd to 4th grade). The recipe for success has been the following: individualized, motivating tutoring lessons, frequent communication with the student's classroom math teacher to stay abreast on test/quiz dates and pacing, and establishing great rapport with the student.
