Private tutor in Philadelphia, PA
University of Massachusetts Amherst - Bachelors, Psychology , University of New Hampshire-Main Campus - PHD, Psychology
My name is Lindsey and I believe that the most important focus of a tutor is to remove the intimidation from difficult subject matter, as mathematics often is for people. I firmly believe that every student has the capability to succeed if they are provided with the proper tools with which to learn. I also believe in having patience and showing compassion, as well as working together to overcome obstacles. My greatest reward is hearing a student say, "I Got It!". I have previously been a psychology instructor as well as a teacher of research methods and statistics at the University of New Hampshire and Granite State College. I have a bachelor's degree, two master's degrees, and a doctorate degree, all in psychology. I have graduated from both the University of Massachusetts and the University of New Hampshire. I currently live in Philadelphia, PA. I tutor students in reading, writing, college essays, essay editing, public speaking, elementary mathematics, and psychology. I can also help with study skills and organization, homework support, and many IP, SAT, and GRE subject exams. I tutor during the school-year and in the summer. Outside of teaching, I enjoy bicycling, traveling, cooking, and playing video games.
