Experience
I began tutoring when I was just a freshman in high school, and since then, I have worked with a wide variety of students of many ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. When I began tutoring, I first helped many students in my hometown of Maplewood. Then, I began working for a tutoring company in Montclair, New Jersey that specializes in helping students prepare for their SAT tests. I remained with that company for two years while simultaneously volunteer tutoring students in West Philadelphia. Just recently, I worked with another company specializing in test preparation, and there I tutored middle school and high school students. While I have six years of experience tutoring Math, I am now also tutoring Writing. Currently, I am an Economics major at the University of Pennsylvania. Since entering college, I have taken many advanced Math courses, and I truly enjoy the subject. I strive to pass on that joy to my students. When I tutor, I like to challenge my students to help them succeed. I also enjoy receiving feedback from my students, because I know that tutoring is truly a service industry. For that reason, I am very open to my students' suggestions on how I can change my tutoring pace or method to help them most.
