A Temple University graduate, I'm adept in teaching history, reading, writing, special education, social studies, English, English as a second language, and essay editing. I'm also proficient in helping students prepare for the SAT and PSAT.In regards to my teaching philosophy, I'm an advocate for individualized education. It's my goal to pinpoint the best way for each individual student to learn. There's no cookie-cutter approach to teaching students. However, a common element is that when their academic needs are addressed individually, they have the ability to achieve academic success. Once they conquer the academic landscape, students have the potential to become lifelong learners. My main goal is to encourage students to bring their own personal goals to fruition, particularly in the areas of reading, writing, phonics, standardized test preparation, and English literature. I strive to establish a learning environment where students feel at ease. Through one-on-one, personalized attention, I'm able to offer my students motivation and encouragement where curiosity is welcomed and where every triumph, no matter how small, is recognized. Teaching isn't just about a teacher sharing all he or she knows with students. I firmly believe that students can also help teach their teachers something. All students have something significant to contribute to the world, and I want to encourage them to share it. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, writing, surfing the Internet, and collecting vinyl records.
