Education
I have a Master's degree Critical and Creative thinking from University of Massachusetts, a BS Elementary Education from Indiana University of PA. I am currently PA certified Elementary Education and Middle School Math. I have presided and presented for many math workshops. I retired June 2014 after 36 years of experience in both pubic and independent school settings. Most of my career was middle school, but I have had significant work in elementary grades as a math resource teacher. The last five years of my career was teaching a self-contained second grade classroom.
Experience
I have worked in many tutoring programs as well as personal tutoring. Math is my expertise and I have had much success helping students overcome the "frustration" level of not understanding a concept. I believe in hands-on, one-on-one instruction. My work as head of elementary math in one job gave me much experience to work with teachers to help them be better math teachers.

Hobbies
I enjoy singing and I am active in a Philadelphia chorus. I do stage performing when i can I like walking. I worked 15 years at a camp in Vermont and enjoy hiking and canoeing. Now that I am retired I am taking continuing ed courses to my liking. Right now it is French. Another item on my retired bucket list is to begin rereading the classics.
