Experience
I attended Wesleyan University and majored in Theater as a playwright. In high school, I focused on theater and music. I also speak Spanish fluently. While I have always performed well academically, I have a visual learning disability that requires a non-standard approach to learning by finding ways to express myself creatively and developing projects based on the coursework. My teaching experience includes volunteering with a GED class while I was in high school and tutoring creative writing during college, along with a variety of group and individual writing workshops. I believe it is important to provide a student with support and motivation.I have never fit the stereotypes or followed all the rules - I cannot change myself, but I can change the way I see the world. As a Quaker, participating in Quaker programs has benefitted me on the path to acceptance. I love helping others learn to accept themselves and discover what their true thoughts are as part of the writing and learning process. I think any writer needs someone else's perspective to help them understand their own writing, along with plenty of revision.
