I currently work as a sophomore teacher at Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School. Prior to this role, I worked as an Administrative and Communications Coordinator for the Center for Hunger-Free Communities, a nationally recognized research and advocacy center at Drexel University's School of Public Health. After more than two years of working at the Center, I decided to follow my call towards teaching and apply for the Service Corp program at CRPHS. I am the Principles of Math teacher for sophomores at CRPHS who are below grade proficiency. My classes are small, allowing for hands-on engagement with all students and individualized learning experiences. I cover topics relating to middle school math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra I. I have patience and persistence with all my students, and I work to ensure fundamental knowledge while challenging them to bring their skills to the next level. I am also qualified to tutor reading and writing at any level. I was an English major in college, and reading and writing have always been my passion. I hope to find tutoring opportunities that would allow me to bring what I've learned in the classroom into tutoring sessions to creatively and effectively enhance non-math skills, like reading and writing. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University in 2013 and finished top of my class at Merion Mercy Academy. I received a 32 on the ACT English and a 30 on ACT Reading. My combined score for the SAT was a 2000.
