I have almost 10 years of experience in education and am passionate about learning and teaching. As a tutor, I offer enthusiasm and experience. I tune in to my students' needs and try to make our sessions enjoyable. I always get excited when I help a student finally understand a concept he or she has been struggling with.I genuinely love teaching and have been doing it since I was 15. I have tutored English (vocabulary and grammar), Science, Social Studies, and Math. In both college and grad school I have often been asked to lead study groups in several subjects. I led one group in epidemiology where I put together in-depth practice exams. I currently facilitate a writer's circle/workshop for friends on Saturday mornings. I recently completed 2½ years teaching Nutrition and Wellness for the Urban Nutrition Initiative at The University of Pennsylvania. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Temple University.In my free time, I enjoy writing, reading, cooking, finding new (and old) music, hiking, swimming, dancing, candid photography, traveling, and sketching.
