Private tutor in Philadelphia, PA
University of Cincinnati-Main Campus - Bachelors, Philosophy , Chestnut Hill College - Masters, Education
I attended the University of Cincinnati where I earned a bachelor's degree. Then, I went on to Chestnut Hill College here in my current town of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where I attained a master's degree in Education. It is in this state that I am certified to teach elementary school, middle school math, and secondary language arts. For many years, I taught in public schools to K-8 students. The areas I am best able to assist with include: literature, PSAT, SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE preparation skills, arithmetic, reading, and writing. One of my greatest joys in life is working with young pupils and helping them to achieve their academic goals. It is very important to respect students, as an instructor, regardless of the age group you are working with. Everybody wants to feel like they are being heard and that there is understanding for their situation. Each person has their own requirements when it comes to retaining new information and I always strive to make myself aware of the proper techniques to ensure knowledge is obtained. In my spare time, I like to do needlework. I have dogs and cats, whose company I find much pleasure in. I also enjoy reading.
