I graduated from Warren Wilson College with a bachelor's degree in creative writing. Throughout college, I gained writing experience through writing workshops. In high school, I attended Interlochen Arts Academy for two years. I worked with fourth graders to improve their writing portfolios in high school. I also worked with children for five years as a camp counselor, building their confidence and skills. While in college, I participated in a teaching internship at old high school. As a tutor, I believe it is important to get to know each student and build trust with them. By working together, we can find their strengths and help them use them. In addition, they can find their weaknesses and turn them into strengths. With a combination of ongoing success, creativity, and encouragement, my students learn at a more efficient rate. Personal tutoring accomplishes these requirements to ensure each student can achieve the academic success they deserve. I work with students to bolster their SAT reading test scores, edit their college essays, and strengthen their understanding of English grammar and syntax. I work from home as a fiction writer and private tutor. When I'm not working, I enjoy bird watching, playing with my two kittens, and camping.
