I attended UNC - Chapel Hill for my women's and gender studies and biology degrees. I always knew I would study biology due to my love of science, but my double major came out of wanting to expand my abilities, research, analysis, and writing outside of science. I'm now developing problem-solving and analytical skills in a cross disciplinary way, which makes me feel comfortable tutoring a wide array of subjects. I can assist students in algebra, biology, chemistry, physics, biochemistry, English, essays, GED prep, GRE prep, SAT prep, MCAT prep, life sciences, writing, psychology, sociology, social sciences, and many others. I work in a collaborative way with students to identify where they need help and focus on that. I don't think lecturing is very effective, so instead I ask a lot of questions and figure out each student's optimal teaching methodology. I want my students to be comfortable and motivated so that they can communicate openly and achieve success in an efficient way. In my free time, I like to play the guitar, sing, watch college basketball, and play with my dog.
