Education
My time attending Franklin Towne Charter High School was actually where my interest in tutoring began. There, as part of being a member of the National Honors Society, I tutored fellow classmates after school by helping them with readings, homework assignments, etc. I enjoyed tutoring so much, that I couldn't wait to continue in college. I attended La Salle University where I received a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and English. As a Secondary Education, I gained knowledge of how to be a meaningful, prepared teacher capable of using psychological theories to further enhance learning. I also learned how to make lesson plans, did mock lessons, etc. As an English major, I read a vast amount of literature, and learned how to become an active and engaged reader. I also took a few writing courses which consisted of writing narratives, writing academic papers, and learning the origins of language. Knowledge of tutoring, teaching, reading, and writing at both Franklin Towne and LaSalle prepared me for any tutoring experiences I'd have along the way.
Experience
As mentioned above, I started gaining tutoring experience as a member of the National Honors Society at Franklin Towne Charter High School, where I tutored fellow students after school. Mostly, I helped these students with homework assignments and readings in which they struggled. I enjoyed tutoring so much, that I was more than glad to do it when I went to La Salle where I was studying Secondary Education and English. During this time, I was hired as a Critical Literacy Fellow where I sat in on college writing classes, and held individual and group session with students from the classes with their assignments. I helped with writing academic papers, finding valid sources, and making readings easier to comprehend. I worked as a Critical Literacy Fellow for two years until I graduated. Later on, I worked for an in home tutoring company called Club Z! where I helped two different middle school students with their homework assignments. The reason I want to be a tutor is because I have gained so much through these experiences. I've worked with students who had so much potential and personality, and I've even formed friendships with some of my past students. I found so much joy in seeing these students succeed, and build confidence, and understand material they struggled with previously. I love tutoring, and I can't wait until I have the opportunity to do it again.

Hobbies
I'd like to say that I am a person of many interests. First, I love music. I love listening to music, writing songs, researching bands, and attending concerts. In fact, I've been in the choir since Elementary school, and I play the piano and drums. In addition to being a musician, I love reading and writing. My favorite genre is young adult literature. I also enjoy not only reading poetry, but also writing my own. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
