I am a part-time laboratory researcher at the University of Pennsylvania in a microbiology lab. I also adjunct part-time as a biochemistry professor as well. I have been doing laboratory research for almost 10 years and have enjoyed studying the interaction of viruses with the immune system. I have a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Temple University. I completed my Masters in Biotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Experience
I am currently a tutor on another website (wyzant.com) where I have done over 350 hours of private tutoring. I have tutored biology, biochemistry, general chemistry and algebra most frequently, though I am able to tutor other related subjects like those listed on my profile as well. I had my first experience with tutoring as an undergraduate at Temple University where I worked for the Math and Science Resource Center and tutored other undergraduates in classes similar to those I had taken. I have also been a teaching assistant for an upper level biochemistry course at the Univ. of Penn. for two years in a row. As a part of that experience, I spent a lot of time with pre-medical and upper-level biochemistry students teaching them core concepts and assisting them in their studies and assignments.

Hobbies
I love learning and reading! I always loved school, and this is a part of the reason I also enjoy teaching and working with students - I get to keep learning new things and reinforcing 'old' concepts regularly. I also spend a lot of time with friends from my church. When I have the time, I like hosting fancy dinner parties and trying new restaurants with friends. The picture I have on my profile right now is me on my first trip to Switzerland - amazing place!
