I am currently a tutor at the University of Pittsburgh academic resource center in the subjects of biology and organic chemistry. I want to be a tutor because I enjoyed tutoring so much in the past. I am a premed student currently applying to medical school and plan to matriculate in the fall of 2017. I have been conducting experiments in a traumatic brain injury research laboratory since the spring of my sophomore year. I plan to culminate this research by writing a thesis about the various hormone levels in rats suffering a traumatic brain injury. Additionally, I am a volunteer at Forbes Hospice clinic in Pittsburgh. I help the staff make the patients feel as comfortable as possible and also provide support for family members. I also tutor in organic chemistry and biology at school through our academic resource center. I have had great experiences in the past with my students and feel that I have been able to teach them a great deal. Although I am heavily involved in conducting research, volunteering, and tutoring, I still am a regular college student! I enjoy spending time with friends, working out, and playing golf. I am a firm believer that balancing education with personal interests is a major key to success, and I strive to emulate this model as much as I can.
