I identify as an Israeli and Jewish woman, and I am proud of my culture and background. I observe Shabbat as well as all other Jewish holidays and I keep kosher. I received an exceptional Jewish education throughout my grammar and high school years. I can read, write and speak Hebrew fluently. I have traveled to Israel, and I have a true understanding of all that goes into a Jewish community that is focused on education. A Jewish community to me means cohesively understanding and practicing the religion and culture of Judaism while assisting others, and I was grateful to observe my religion at Penn State Hillel as well. Additionally, I have been fortunate to be involved in my mother’s kosher catering and cake design company, where I have learned to prepare and promote various Israeli middle-eastern recipes. I feel as though I have the background, qualities, and passion to motivate students in their journey to learn more about their Jewish roots.
