Education

I have received Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. I have also received a Doctor of Law Degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. The course work for the Master’s degree in engineering included graduate level engineering math courses.

Experience

I have three years of full time teaching experience in 2 year colleges while I was going through law school. The courses I taught included algebra, calculus, electronics, technical writing and computer science. I enjoyed working with the students enormously, and I am very excited about doing it again. After receiving my Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering I worked 2 years as a research and design engineer. This included computerizing a radio and computerizing engine strategy in a car. After working as an engineer I went to law school. After graduation from law school I worked over 30 years as a Patent Attorney, before retiring. My duties as a Patent Attorney were mostly helping inventors obtain patents on their inventions from the U.S. and foreign Patent Offices. This included drafting detailed descriptions of the inventions, and corresponding with the Patent Offices to convince the patent examiners that the inventions were patentable. Performing the duties of Patent Attorney required significant writing skills, as well as technical skills.

I am very interested in politics and international relations. I read on these subjects almost every day. I also get involved in political campaigns.
