Experience
I often find that students don't have an appreciation for chemistry, or science in general even though their lives depend on it. In addition to teaching the subject matter, I try and show the students how exciting science can be and why I'm so passionate about the subject. This is why I love tutoring. Relevant experience: -Teaching assistant and tutor at Oregon State university while an undergrad. -Teaching assistant for 3 years at Penn State. I helped design course work and teaching labs to improve the material science section of the general chemistry labs. -Tutored multiple students a year for 4 of the 5 years at Penn State. Each student came out of the experience with an improved score on the final exam. The best starting with a 50% on the first exam to low 90s on the final.
