Experience
My name is Kristian and I'm a PhD candidate in American History at the University of Pennsylvania. If you're looking for someone to work with you on reading, writing, history (American or non-American), or social studies, I'm here to help. I have two years of undergraduate teaching experience and have tutored on and off since high school. I hold a teaching certificate from the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at the UPenn, and during 2015-16, I also served as one of the CTL's teaching fellows. In this position, I was expected to organize and facilitate monthly pedagogical workshops and to observe (and critique) graduate teaching assistants in the classroom. In 2015, the History Department Undergraduate Advisory Board voted me "Teaching Assistant of the Year."

Hobbies
I am in my fifth year in my doctoral program. My primary focus is modern American history and my research interests include the United States in the twentieth century, urban history, and American cultural production (i.e. books, films, music, etc.). I spend most of my spare time reading about food, fostering kittens, walking around West Philly, and adding items to my Amazon wishlist.
