Experience
My tutoring style is based on addressing the specific and unique needs of each person I tutor, no matter the subject. Although I do tutor a large range of subjects, I find my passion lies with Social Studies and English. As a Howard University and University of Michigan Law School graduate, I enjoy learning and continuing education. I earned degrees during my undergraduate schooling in both Philosophy and English, and have done work as a graduate student in Philosophy at Temple University. I have vast experience as a professional journalist, having been published in USA Today, the Baltimore Sun, the Michigan Daily, and other publications. I have also won some noteworthy awards from national and state press associations for my articles. I currently work as an adjunct professor at Rowan University, and have been helping students since 2002 to prepare for the GRE, LSAT, and SAT. I specialize in helping students improve their ability to understand complicated texts, take effective notes in class, and find their own writing voice. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, sports, cooking, writing, biking, and golfing. I am also a pretty big sports fan and avid history and literature enthusiast. My most recent travels have taken me to South Africa, Switzerland, and Ethiopia, and I am currently planning a trip to China.
